There is something very calming and peaceful about this painting which was inspired by spring walks at the Cornish coast. The greens bring a freshness to it. I always love watching how the light reflects off the wet sand at low tide, even on a cloudy day.

I love the contrast between the deep Prussian blue of the Atlantic against the reflections on the wet sand as the sun catches on it. The roar of the surf against the calm of the beach is also very evocative
