“I am, and always have been an artist, though at times I just didn’t recognize it.”

Maggie’s art is all about her love affair with the Cornish coastline - it is both subject and emotional anchor.  Growing up in a naval family and moving every few years, the sea became her constant, the thing that remained when everything else changed. 

Today she walks the coastal paths most days, observing  the light, the weather, the tides and the coastal foliage.  These repeated encounters become paintings.  

Sometimes immersive, at other times more intimate, her meditative coastal landscapes are a response to being at the water’s edge, watching and listening to the ebb and flow of the ocean.  

Capturing a moment in time, Maggie’s paintings also capture a sense of both the timelessness and the transience of the coastal landscape.
