Copy of About Maggie
“I am, and always have been an artist, though at times I just didn’t recognize it.”
Maggie’s art is all about her love affair with the Cornish coastline. She walks along the coastal paths most days, noting changes in the light, the weather, the tides and the coastal foliage.
After a naval childhood, moving every few years, Maggie realised that to her the sea represented ‘home’. It was always present when everything else changed. Her paintings are about that feeling of being at home by the sea.
Sometimes immersive, at other times more intimate, her meditative coastal landscapes are a response to being at the water’s edge, watching and listening to the ebb and flow of the ocean.
Capturing a moment in time, Maggie’s paintings also capture a sense of both the timelessness and the transience of the coastal landscape.
