Spend a relaxing weekend with other creatives on the banks of the beautiful Helford River.

Leave your worries at the door – everything will be taken care of by artist Maggie and her daughter Helena. Enjoy good food, fresh sea air, a beautiful setting, and time to unwind with like-minded people who share an interest in art.

Physically getting together with other creatives can be an enriching and positive experience. As we know, being an artist can often be a lonely journey, so these coastal art retreat weekends are designed to share ideas, talk art, create art together, and refill your creative well with new energy and inspiration.

What's Included?

Friday 21st (arrive after 3pm) – Monday 24th March (leave by 10am)

Location: Helford, Cornwall

Price includes: Ensuite accommodation, 3 x breakfast, 1 x lunch, 3 x dinner, and wine with the evening meals.

Maggie will share her experience and techniques for sketching and doing watercolour studies to capture the essence of our beautiful Helford location.

Maggie will also run a workshop to introduce you to working with oil and cold wax. She will guide you through creating some atmospheric studies of the Helford using this medium.

Please bring a sketchbook and some sketching tools. Maggie will have watercolours to share but please bring your own if you have them.

About Us

Tutor - Maggie Cochran

Maggie has a Fine Art degree from the University of Chichester and was awarded Cornwall Life Landscape Painter of the Year 2016. She has exhibited widely across the UK, completed numerous large commissions, and has work featured in prestigious Cornish hotels, such as The Headland Hotel in Newquay and Bedruthan Hotel in Mawgan Porth.

Maggie is passionate about marine conservation and regularly donates to environmental charities, using her art to help protect the marine world.

She also enjoys sharing her love of painting, running workshops and networking events for artists.

Host - Helena Cochran

Based over the river in Falmouth, Cornwall, Helena loves cooking delicious meals using local, seasonal produce and enjoys nothing more than sharing them with others. She will be on hand to ensure that everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Helena is also a printmaker and runs printmaking workshops under the name H.C. Prints. She loves getting to dedicate time to bring creative, and always feels most inspired when she's by the water.
