Cornish Waterside Art Retreats
Booking is now open for our next two Cornish waterside art retreats. We loved sharing our Helford weekend with such a special group this year, and can't wait to see what 2026 brings.
This time we have an additional offering; a weekend of connection and creativity (and delicious food!) in Porthleven, Cornwall. You can view more details for both retreats by following the links below.
Friday 10th - Monday 13th April 2026
Spend a relaxing weekend with other creatives on the banks of the beautiful Helford River. We will be based in a stone cottage nestled in the heart of Helford village, with surrounding walks and the tidal river on our doorstep, plus tuition from Maggie around our big wooden table.
Friday 25th - Monday 28th September 2026
Join us in the special harbour town of Porthleven, where we will visit local galleries, experience the best Cornish food and drink on offer, and gather inspiration from the nearby beaches. We will explore gathering information with sketches and using these as a starting point for a painting.
About Us
Tutor - Maggie Cochran
Maggie has a Fine Art degree from the University of Chichester and was awarded Cornwall Life Landscape Painter of the Year 2016. She has exhibited widely across the UK, completed numerous large commissions, and has work featured in prestigious Cornish hotels, such as The Headland Hotel in Newquay and Bedruthan Hotel in Mawgan Porth.
Maggie is passionate about marine conservation and regularly donates to environmental charities, using her art to help protect the marine world.
She also enjoys sharing her love of painting, running workshops and networking events for artists.
Host - Helena Cochran
Based over the river from Helford, in Falmouth, Cornwall, Helena loves cooking delicious meals using local, seasonal produce and enjoys nothing more than sharing them with others. She will be on hand to ensure that everyone has a wonderful weekend.
Helena is also a printmaker and runs printmaking workshops under the name H.C. Prints. She loves getting to dedicate time to bring creative, and always feels most inspired when she's by the water.
